The Power Of Meditation
Last Sunday I taught a whole day of meditation to a small group of enthusiasts. I have always loved meditating and feel that it is the cornerstone to any success in psychic development. It is the key to finding true inner calm. Many years ago, when I first trained to be a yoga teacher, I sought out teachers from the States, Europe and also India. Last week I was again teaching from the old scriptures and handmade books made in India by devotees of the search for the light. These books are real treasures and the knowledge inside them is priceless. Much of the day was spent in going over basic techniques designed to prepare to meditate. There was a lot of emphasis on breathing correctly and learning how to move and change the energy currents in your body and so your mood and health. The yogis believe that in any one lifetime we have been allotted a certain number of breaths. They believe that the slower you breathe the longer you will live. Basics like getting enough sleep, eating properly and spending your time with people who take you up not down were covered. The ability to also control your negative thoughts and merely observe them was a very useful meditation. I also showed the students how to detach from their negativity and locate the part within themselves that had the problem and ask it questions. Once this part had been accessed and listened to it dropped the problem. Everyone was at ease and very calm. Understanding how their energy body was affecting their physical body and their mind was most beneficial.
